Toyota Tundra Service Manual: Vehicle Speed Tolerance Malfunction (C1AA2)

DESCRIPTION

The forward recognition camera receives vehicle speed tolerance signals from the combination meter assembly. If the combination meter assembly detects a vehicle speed tolerance malfunction signal, it informs the forward recognition camera via CAN communication, and DTC C1AA2 is stored.

Vehicle Speed Tolerance Malfunction

3 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to ON, a signal from the combination meter assembly indicating an abnormal vehicle speed tolerance is detected by the forward recognition camera for 50 seconds or more.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • When replacing the forward recognition camera, always replace it with a new one. If a forward recognition camera which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the forward recognition camera will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.
  • If the forward recognition camera has been replaced with a new one, be sure to perform Forward Recognition Camera Axis Adjustment.

  • The forward recognition camera system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there are no malfunctions in the CAN communication system. Refer to How to Proceed with Troubleshooting.

  • When replacing the combination meter assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a combination meter assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.

INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (OPERATION CHECK)

(a) Perform Operation Check of the meter/gauge system.

Check the meter function by referring to Operation Check for the combination meter assembly.
