DESCRIPTION

The LIN communication of the components related to the mirror heater occurs between the air conditioning amplifier assembly and air conditioning control assembly.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

When using the Techstream with the ignition switch OFF to troubleshoot:

Connect the Techstream to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the tester and vehicle begins.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the J127 air conditioning control assembly connector.

(b) Disconnect the J19 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Tester Connection

J19-37 (LIN1) - J127-7 (STX)

Always

Below 1 Ω

J19-37 (LIN1) or J127-7 (STX) - Body ground

Always

10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the J127 air conditioning control assembly connector.

(b) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

CHECK AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)

(a) Temporarily replace the air conditioning control assembly with a new or normally functioning one (See page ).

(b) Check that the malfunction disappears.

OK:

Malfunction disappears.

OK

END (AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)

NG

REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
