  • INF Code: 11
    • With the IG terminal voltage from 11 to 14 V, the manual trailer brake output slider is outside the specified range of zero point (60 seconds after turning the ignition switch to ON)
  • INF Code: 12
    • Any of the following is detected:
      1. With the ignition switch on and the IG terminal voltage from 11 to 14 V, the manual trailer brake output slider standard value is continuously outside the specified range for 1 second or more
      2. With the ignition switch on and the IG terminal voltage from 11 to 14 V, manual trailer brake output slider input 1 is continuously outside the specified range for 1 second or more
      3. With the ignition switch on and the IG terminal voltage from 11 to 14 V, manual trailer brake output slider input 2 is continuously outside the specified range for 1 second or more
      4. With the ignition switch on and the IG terminal voltage from 11 to 14 V, the manual trailer brake output slider difference is continuously outside the specified range for 1 second or more
      5. With the ignition switch on and the IG terminal voltage from 11 to 14 V, the manual trailer brake output slider comparison is continuously outside the specified range for 1 second or more
  • INF Code: 13
    • With the ignition switch on and the IG terminal voltage from 11 to 14 V, an open circuit occurs in the manual trailer brake output slider internal circuit or wire harness and connector for 1 second or more
  • INF Code: 14
    • With the ignition switch on and the IG terminal voltage from 11 to 14 V, a short circuit occurs in the manual trailer brake output slider internal circuit or wire harness and connector for 1 second or more
  • Trailer brake control switch
  • Trailer brake control ECU (Brake control with bracket relay)
  • Harness or connector

PROCEDURE

1.

INSPECT TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL SWITCH

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Remove the trailer brake control switch.

(c) Inspect the trailer brake control switch.

Click here

OK:

The trailer brake control switch operates normally.

REPLACE TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL SWITCH

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BRAKE CONTROL WITH BRACKET RELAY - TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL SWITCH)

(a) Disconnect the J172 trailer brake control ECU (brake control with bracket relay) connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Immediately after turning the ignition switch to ON, check the manual trailer brake output slider (trailer brake control switch) operation condition.

OK:

Immediately after turning the ignition switch to ON, the manual trailer brake output slider (trailer brake control switch) does not operate continuously for 1 minute or more.
