REASSEMBLY CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT HINT:
PROCEDURE 1. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE ANCHOR BLOCK
2. CONNECT NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER LH (a) Apply high temperature grease to the parking brake shoe lever. (b) Install the parking brake shoe lever to the No. 3 parking brake cable. NOTICE: Carefully distinguish the parking brake shoe lever RH and LH. 4. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH (a) Apply high temperature grease to the areas of the backing plate that contact the shoe.
5. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY LH (a) Apply high temperature grease to the areas of the backing plate that contact the shoe.
(c) Set the parking brake shoe and shoe adjuster screw set in place. (d) Connect the tension spring.
6. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN SPRING
7. CHECK PARKING BRAKE INSTALLATION (a) Check that each part is installed properly. 8. INSTALL REAR DISC
9. CONNECT REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH
10. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE SHOE CLEARANCE
11. CHECK PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
12. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL
13. INSTALL REAR WHEEL LH Torque: for aluminum wheel : 131 N·m {1336 kgf·cm, 97 ft·lbf} for steel wheel : 209 N·m {2131 kgf·cm, 154 ft·lbf} 14. SETTLE PARKING BRAKE SHOE AND DISC (a) Drive the vehicle for approximately 400 m (0.25 miles) under the following conditions. (1) The vehicle speed is approximately 50 km/h (31 mph) and the vehicle is on a safe, level and dry road. (2) The parking brake pedal is being depressed with a force of 150 N (15 kgf, 33.7 lbf). (b) Repeat the procedures above 2 or 3 times. |
