PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL ACCELERATOR PEDAL ROD ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:

  • Avoid physical shocks to the accelerator pedal rod assembly.
  • Do not disassemble the accelerator pedal rod assembly.
  • This accelerator pedal does not require lubrication.

    Do not apply oil or other lubrication to the accelerator pedal rod assembly.

    If applied, the accelerator pedal rod assembly must be replaced.

(a) Install the accelerator pedal rod with the 2 nuts.

Torque:

5.5 N·m {56 kgf·cm, 49 in·lbf}

(b) Connect the accelerator pedal position sensor connector.

On-vehicle Inspection

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT ACCELERATOR PEDAL ROD ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream main switch ON.

(d) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / ALL Date / Accel Sensor Out No. 1 and Accel Sensor Out No. 2.

(e) Read the value displayed on the tester.

Standard Voltage:

Accel Sensor Out No. 1

Condition

Specified Condition

Accelerator pedal is released

0.5 to 1.1 V

Accelerator pedal is depressed

2.6 to 4.5 V

Accel Sensor Out No. 2

Condition

Specified Condition

Accelerator pedal is released

1.2 to 2.0 V

Accelerator pedal is depressed

3.4 to 5.0 V

If the result is not as specified, check the accelerator pedal rod, wire harness or ECM.

Removal

REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ROD ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:

This accelerator pedal does not require lubrication.

Do not apply oil or other lubrication to the accelerator pedal rod assembly.

If applied, the accelerator pedal rod assembly must be replaced.

(a) Disconnect the accelerator pedal position sensor connector.

(b) Remove the 2 nuts and accelerator pedal rod.

    A/f Sensor Heater Relay

    Air Fuel Ratio Sensor
