REMOVAL PROCEDURE 1. PRECAUTION NOTICE: After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Click here 2. DISABLE AUTOAWAY/RETURN FUNCTION (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) (a) Disable the Autoaway/Return function by changing the customize parameter. Click here NOTICE: Record the above operation causes the Autoaway/Return function to be disabled when the ignition switch is turned off. (b) Turn the ignition switch to ON. Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column. (c) Turn the ignition switch off. 3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Column Shift Type) Click here 12. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Column Shift Type) Click here 13. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE Click here 14. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ORNAMENT (a) for Column Shift Type: Click here (b) for Floor Shift Type: Click here 15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (a) for Column Shift Type: Click here (b) for Floor Shift Type: Click here 16. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (a) for Floor Shift Type: Apply protective tape as shown in the illustration.
(b) Remove the 4 screws. (c) Move the combination meter assembly as shown in the illustration and disconnect the 2 connectors and detach the wire harness clamp.
(d) Pass the combination meter assembly between the steering wheel assembly and instrument panel. |
